A little bit about me

I am a muralist and painter based in Seattle. My murals celebrate nature and combine realistic landscape imagery with geometric elements and colorful abstract perspectives. The combination of imagery is a metaphor for our relationship with nature.

I also teach painting and drawing at Skagit Valley College, where I am chair of the art department. My favorite class is my mural painting class. In the class, beginning and experienced artists design and paint large scale murals. A few years ago, I was invited to Kosovo to teach mural painting. The project was sponsored by the US Embassy and MuralFest Kosovo. Another highlight of my mural painting career was my mural for the Seattle Sounders.

My public art projects include a large freestanding sculpture for Crystal Mountain Resort and a tile installation for PCC Natural Markets in Kirkland.

I also exhibit paintings in gallery shows. My work is currently represented by Roq La Rue Gallery in Seattle. My oil paintings combine rich landscape imagery of the Pacific Northwest. I combine that imagery with shipping containers and perspective grids to inspire conversations about the balance between nature and human industry.
